During our encounter, you will learn all about what a fantastic animal the reindeer actually is and how incredibly well-adapted it is to survive a harsh, arctic climate. For instance, did you know that in some aspects, reindeer actually have better eyesight than humans?

Hiking with snowshoes alongside reindeer is a truly unique winter experience that you will never forget. This is an adventure you won't find anywhere else—here, you get to strap on your snowshoes, step out into the deep snow, and walk side-by-side with free-roaming reindeer as a part of a real reindeer herd.

Together, we move through an enchanting and silent old-growth forest where winter is at its most beautiful. The snow hangs heavy on the branches, the untouched snow glitters all around us, and thick lichen hangs from the tree trunks. This hanging lichen is like candy to the reindeer!

During the tour, we take a cozy break for a traditional Sámi fika, while listening to stories about the Sámi culture, life as a reindeer herder, and how the Sámi year with its eight seasons works.

This is an absolute favorite tour for both adults and children who want to get up close to nature, the animals, and the Sámi culture in a beautiful winter landscape.

The Northern Lights are best experienced close to the starry sky, where the night darkness is absolute and the light pollution from cities is far away. Join us out into the winter night for an unforgettable Northern Lights hunt.

We strap on our snowshoes and hike in peaceful silence among the snow-heavy branches of the mountain birches. With a thrill of excitement, we look upward and watch for the sky to fill with the colorful, dancing green light.

After the hike, we gather around the crackling fire by our kåta (traditional Sámi tipi). Here, we warm ourselves with a delicious hot drink and traditional dried reindeer meat while sharing the evening's experiences. You will learn more about the Northern Lights as a scientific phenomenon, but also listen to the exciting and mythical Sámi legends about the magic of the heavens.

Please note: Since the Northern Lights are governed by solar storms and weather gods, we can never give a one-hundred-percent guarantee that they will appear—but we can promise that we will do everything in our power to give you a magical, atmospheric, and memorable evening in the mountains!

When the winter cold bites your cheeks, we invite you to a magical moment in the world of fairy tales. We welcome you into the warmth of our cozy tältkåta (traditional Sámi tipi). Inside, the fire crackles welcomingly, and we sit down together on soft, warm reindeer skins.

Around the living flames, you will meet the fascinating character Staalo, the Sámi goddesses, and many other colorful figures. While you listen, we will grill a flavorful reindeer sausage together over the open fire. This is a perfect, warming, and exciting winter experience for adventurers both big and small!
